Day 1

Years ago my doctor told me that I had to get my weight under control and sent me to HarrisFast. They are a part of the Health Management Resources (HMR) diet program to lose weight and keep it off for overweight to very obese people. I did the at home program, which was successful, but the holiday's hit - I did a little traveling, and boom - off the wagon.

I've gone back to HMR and told them I'm ready to change. I've commited to 13 weeks - I can do this for 13 weeks, and then from there decide what direction I need to go.

This time I have gone all the way and am on the doctor supervised diet with 5 shakes. They took my blood work last week, and I was terified that it would come back showing I'm diabetic - fortuantly no, but my cholesterol is too high, and my good cholesterol is too low - which means heart disease.

Last night was orentation - 2.5 hours long - I was actually there from 5 till 8 last night.
I've been eating heavly this week, kind of like last meals knowing that I've commited to the next 13 weeks. To my horror, the scale read 300.1.

Well - at least I'm starting with an even number.
I got up this morning and got to the gym at 5:30 - 15 minutes on the elliptical and 10 on the bike.
Slow start, since earlier this year I was a lot lighter and in much better shape - but I have to start somewhere.

Last night I made up two shakes, not fully knowing how this morning would work - One of the girls in class who's lost 40 pounds said to make a double for breakfast - not sure what "double" means, so I made one chocolate and one vanilla, which I mixed with 1 teaspoon of sugar free strawberry/banana jello and 3 splenda packets. Yum - but a little too sweet - I'll cut back on the splenda a little next time. I think I'm going to try to have a shake at 7, 9, 11, 2, 5 & 7 today and see how it goes.

I'm going to take pictuers tonight so that I have a "Before" pictuer to compare to 13 weeks from now.
