Ok, yesterday was hard - but I did stay on plan. Schools were closed for Columbus Day, so I took the day off with my kiddo. She had a friend spend the night Sunday who stayed with us all day Monday. Since I was juggling a couple of kids, we went to the park, ran around for a couple of hours, hiked through the nature trails (my workout, since I could not take them to the gym), played at the house, etc.
Although I was not hungry yesterday, I found myself wanting everything. I wanted the Corney dog's they were eating, the chips, meat, etc. Everything looked good in the house, although I was not physically hungry. I just wanted to sit on the couch and pig out until I exploded, but I resisted the urges. I found it weird that I was wanting to eat, although my stomach said, "your not hungry, you are still full from lunch". I even started have thoughts of doubt last night that "there's no way I was going to make it on this diet until the end of the year". Well, luckily it passed, because today I've been back to normal and feel like I can do it.
I think it's due to the stress of entertaining 5 & 6 year olds all day and making myself break hard wired habits.
I love the HMR chicken soup and we can add any dried 0 caloric seasonings to our foods or shakes. Yesterday to help get over the desire to eat junk, I added some dried onion, garlic and season's to the soup & entree to just change things. It helped alot.
Due to the injuries from Volleyball last week, and my pure exhaustion this morning, I did not make it to the gym and tried to sleep in a little. I think it's helped - they say if you don't get enough sleep, you want to eat, and it's true. I'll be sure to be back at the gym tomorrow. Today has given my hip and shoulder a little extra time to heal since Sunday.
Weird side effect I've experienced is lot's and lot's of bowel movements. Can't fully say it's from the diet though. I've had Chron's flair ups off an on for years, and since having my gallbladder removed last year, I get the bonus side effect of "gastric dumping". Symptoms to both are similar and can also cause the increase in bowel movements. I'll talk with the doctor about it tonight when I see him & the nurse before the meeting, but they may just chalk it up to Chron's and/or the gastric dumping, either way, there's nothing that can be done.
