It’s been kind of a rough weekend.
Not to get into too many personal details – but 4 weeks ago, I started back on “the pill”. Had a bunch of nightmarish issues over the past 5 years with “the shot” (Depo = Evil) and other contraceptives the OB tried. It took about 3 full years for my plumbing to function normally again (well as normally as it would). Since we are not 100% sure if we are done having kids, I was not ready for my hubby to go get “the snip” so I opted to go back on “the pill” and was told it would be the best solutions, since I also have PCOS.
MISERY!
I got pregnant with Piper December 2002 while on “the pill”. So my doctor explained that he wanted to put me on a higher dose because of that and my weigh. He said basically the bigger you are, the less effective the pill may be... so he’d put me on this dose and to come back in 3 months so he could adjust it down, knowing I’m on HMR and will continue to lose weight.
At first I thought all the nausea was due to the sinus infection, but it has not let up, although the infection is gone, I’ve had intense uncontrollable sugar cravings and Aunt Flo has came to visit unexpectedly 3 weeks now and really needs to go!
I’m told that it will take a couple of months for my body to adjust and work itself out, which I understand but it’s playing hell with my diet and life. I’ve also gone from a 60-90 days between visits from Aunt Flo, to a 3 week long stay..ugh!
I’m not exactly hungry, but have become ravenous for super sugary foods... I caved this weekend and found my husband’s box of Sunkist Fruit Chews – OMG it was good, but I could have easily downed the whole box, almost did! The problem is I don’t think it would have quenched my cravings – I would have just wanted more. Historically I’m not a sweet eater, so this is annoying. I spent all day yesterday talking myself out of going and eating the chocolate baking bars in the pantry. I tried puddings, HMR parts, etc – nothing helped. We were at Sam’s buying food for my family and I was drooling over the cakes in the bakery – I hate cake – have never been able to stand it – icing turns my stomach, but yesterday it looked heavenly.
So I’ve turned to trying to sweeten up my shakes as much as possible instead to see if that helps.. it does some, but the cravings have not dissipated. I’ll give it two more weeks. If things have not improved – the doctor will have to try something else. I can’t handle the diet, cravings, nausea and extended visits all at the same time.

Oh...I would have done so much worse than you...Way to hang in there! Hope this gets straightened out!
I am also having Aunt Flo issues. She comes for 5 days and really causes ussues - then she leaves for 5-10 days and then back for 4-6 days...SUCKS! My dr siad when youare loosing wt at this rate your estrogen levels are wonky and very high - and that leads to period issues.
Good luck!
