Where did 2009 go

Don't know about you, but 2009 went by too quick.

The up's:
  • lost 60 pounds
  • started taking a martial art's class
  • My daughter started kindergarten
  • volleyball team placed 3rd last season & got to play in the tournament
  • hubby joined the team & is pretty good

The down:

  • broke my foot & had to have surgery
  • gained 40 pounds back

I've missed being active. My doctor finally released me last week after 3 mos of no walking/surgery/etc. to start exercising.

Physical Therapy was very successful, so now it's up to me to get my life and body back in order.

Due to finances, I can't afford to participate in the HRM classes, so I've chosen to add the products into my day to day life.

On Friday, several of us at work weighed in - everyone is doing their own diet, but the ultimate goal for all is weight loss.

My weight at the group weigh in was 296. Very sad, since I was down to 254 only a few months ago. The up side, is that I'm less than my highest weight of 314, but in reality I'm not far from it.

I've been having anywhere from 2-6 HRM products a day (shakes, soup, bar, entree) and lots of fruit's and veggies along with lean protein.

After doing the HMR liquid fast for so long, I just can't do it again - it worked great, but so hard to go back to. This way I get both the fruits, vegetables & meal replacements.

My calorie intake each day has been averaging 1450. We will weight in as a group tomorrow and I'll see if my plan is working.

As for exercise, I went to my martial art's class Monday - first real workout since July. Did you know that lunge, squat, lunge, squat = 2 days of not being able to sit down or stand up without pain. It showed me that I am in worse shape than I thought, but the exercise felt great.

Tonight is volleyball practice. Our new season starts Sunday. I'm very excited to be playing again, since I missed the last 2 seasons due to my injury.

DJ! Welcome Back!

I was sorry to read (and see) the info about your foot...i can imagine that after getting into such an active lifestyle it is hard to be set back like that.

You are exactly where I am now. I am starting again on my weight-loss journey using HMR replacements as a tool, but not doing the program 100%. I am pretty much doing calories in/ calories out ... and keeping up with everything. I started back on 12/10 and have started relying less and less on the HMR replacements and more and more on everyday items. I do enjoy the HMR puddings as a dessert that is also a ton of useful protein.

My intake is about 1200-1300 per day. I know that your plan will work, and I am so excited to see you back!

Keep in touch!
