I’m trying to get back in the habit of working out at the gym regularly. I play volleyball twice a week, and putter around doing other things, but after the holidays I’ve been avoiding the gym since all the “New Years Resolution” folks show up. Now that it’s been 6-7 weeks, that crowd is starting to trickle off.
Last night they were swamped and I finally found one treadmill open… after walking for 5 minutes I decided to give jogging a try again, since it’s been a couple of months.. I’m proud to say that I ran at a 5.2 speed for 5 minutes. A very big deal for me since last year I could not run even 30 seconds. I’ve got very short legs, so 5.2 is not much on these treadmills when my 6’2 husband can run at a 9+ due to his long stride and walks at a 5 – but when you are vertically challenged like me, 5.2 is fast! Plus as a bonus, my lose skin did not make any obscene or embarrassing noises like before.
So I’ve officially been on maintenance a couple of days now and am really enjoying it. Technically I ate out of the box last week while in New Orleans, but ate lots of fish and veggies, but I’m counting this as my first true week of maintenance:
